National Science Week kicks off on 16 August and the Murray Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is getting a head start on the celebrations on Friday 15 August at the Australian National University (ANU) for Science in ACTion’s Careers Day. From 9:30-3:30 they'll be there along with various other science organisations to provide information on the range of science careers within the MDBA and have some fun activities and freebies to give away!

On Saturday 16 August they’ll be at ANU again for the Science in ACTion Community Open Day. Bring the family along between 10am and 4pm and learn about the many facets of science involved in water management. There’ll be demonstrations, hands-on activities, giveaways and more! You’ll even have the chance to try your hand at being a river operator in our interactive app Run the River.

They’ll be wrapping up the week in style at the Geoscience Australia Open Day on Sunday 24 August from 10am til 3pm. They'll be showing off how river catchments work, how salinity affects us and the environment, and getting our heads into the clouds to explore water vapour in the water cycle.

If you’re in the ACT, visit them at these events! All the information you need on these events and more is at the National Science Week website http://www.scienceweek.net.au/ .

If you can’t make it remember to check the education@MDBA webpage for info and to play Run the Riverhttp://www.mdba.gov.au/what-we-do/education
